Garden Tuesday - My Favorite Kind Of Spider

Spider

If I was going to have a favorite spider, this would be it.

spider

Of course, I only admire him from afar.

If he was actually on me, I would probably die a thousand and one small deaths.

But admiring him in his web, with his creepy dead bug friend, is doable.

Ahh! I am not a fan of spiders. I don't mind them in photos but I can't go near them.

Great pictures! They are amazing creatures and the ultimate "web masters".

Picture me huddling in a corner and murmuring, "find my happy place, find my happy place, find my happy place" ....

Eek, poisonous spiders!?! Feel free to hide out in my Canadian home where we have very few of such creatures.
The pictures, however, are beautiful.

This is my favorite spider too and I will be posting about them on Friday on my blog. I am so relieved that some other woman out there likes them a much a I do.

oh hey! that's my favorite spider too! do you know what he's called? my mom and i always called them 'zipper spiders' because of the zigzag in their webs. they don't ever seem aggressive and they always build their webs so i can see them instead of running into them by accident.

So you love spider closeups from your garden too? Few things are as a beautiful as a glistening spiderweb suspending droplets of water. And sometimes spiders have an amazing translucent quality. I admit to being a little creeped out by them but I am also in awe. It's good to know that i am not alone!

Oh, I LOVE these spiders. Most years we have one outside our breakfast nook window that we can watch all day if we want. I love how they catch grasshoppers and "save them for later."
