I received a nice Christmas cactus as a gist last week. It was in full red bloom. So, I guess we're impatient out here too.
Mine are the same way. Too excited to wait!

Ohhh.. I waaannt one!
Every once in a while, my Christmas cacti bloom twice in a year. I think they just bloom when the weather cools.
Mine are blooming now.
