Sofia, Blanc de Blanes, California 2007, Francis Coppola. $11.40This was our New Year’s Even wine instead of Champagne. We say: Sweet, fruity, almost like a sparkling gewurztraminer. Buy again: Yes, if we are in the mood for a sparkling wine.
Double Dog Dare Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc. California. $3.99. We say: weak, water, tastes cheap (which it was!). Buy again: No.

I love sparkling wine! Definitely going to have to try that first one.
I love sparkling wine, especially if it's in a pretty bottle like that.
Have you visited the Coppola winery? Pretty building and grounds. I couldn't try the wine that day but I'm sure it must be good.
Too bad about Double Dog...Such a cute label.
Pretty glass for the Sofia.
I'd almost buy that Double Dog Dare wine just for the name! We stopped the Valley of the Moon winery a couple of weeks ago and picked up some of their sparkling wine. I don't drink champagne all that often but when I do I love this.
Wine not?
Such a beautiful photo of the Coppola sparkling wine. I love the label on that wine, too.
I am not a sparkling wine fan, but the double dog is the type I like to buy... sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you have risotto stock
I think the label on the Sofia bottle is very pretty. Wouldn't mind a taste of that right now.

I feel so lame reading your wine reviews. We always just get Berringer since I'm only using it for cooking.
Beautiful bottles and glasses!
Double Dog Dare....LOLOLOOLOL! I didn't even think they made wine for less then $5 a bottle any more!
That first label is so pretty! It would definitely catch my eye. Glad to hear it's a nice choice. I'll have to see if I can find it!
