What Was it Wednesday

You are looking at February 26, 2010.  Beans.  Some kind of fancy beans.  Maybe cranberry?  Maybe Rancho Gordo

I don’t know about you, but I am ready for this.  Ready for soups.  Ready for stews.  Ready for the aroma of pot roasts to hang in the air all Sunday afternoon.

***What Was it Wednesday – my attempt to work my way through my old cooking photos.  Photos so old I don’t remember what they were, or don’t have the energy to try and figure it out.

Mmm stew. Whatever that is, it looks like comfort food.

Hmmmm. Pretty, whatever they are. Beans usually don't hold their markings when cooked. Now I have to do some sleuthing. ; }

Oh yeah! I would LOVE a big bowl of lamb stew! Trouble is, I can't find lamb stew meat anywhere, and cutting up chops for it gets kind of expensive. Stores used to carry it all the time.

It does look like beans. It's warmed up here a little bit, but those furnace guys had better be here Wednesday & Thursday as promised, before it turns colder again!

I'd agree with cranberry beans (which I've only recently become familiar with)

So glad it's soup season again!
