Cheap, Frugal, or Environmentally Friendly

Does your family have a wrapping paper saver?  You know, the one who carefully flattens each piece of used wrapping paper and folds it up, ready to be used again.  Their closet is filled with bags of used bows and bits of ribbon from this and that.

Giftbag

I am that person.  My very favorite thing to save is those gift bags.  They don’t get torn, they are barely used and they fold up nicely.  Though, I think I should set some etiquette rules.  Like…maybe a new tag would be a nice touch.

My mom saves bags. I would probably too if I had any room at all for storage.

I met a woman at Joann's a couple of years ago that waits until the seasonal material goes on sale each year and buy it at silly low prices then makes her own bags. She told me that she has all kinds of sizes and it makes wrapping Christmas/Holiday gifts a snap! She said she had enough that the whole family uses them now, and that she always gets rave reviews about the wrapping.. I've always wanted to do that, but never had the time yet... very cool project..

I live with that person.

I am a gift bag saver, too. I (almost) always remember to take the tag off before I regift.

Wow. I'm impressed. I save paper once in a while if it appeals to me, but never have saved tags.
I'm sorry, but it reminded me of a Christmas a while back. My brother gave my daughter an odd gift and later we found a gift tag inside...it had been gifted to him originally.

I too am that woman, but we simply do not use the tag on the bag, that way it is always "new"!

bag saver too, but that tag makes me want to recheck my stash for umm, human error...

I used to save those bags, but now I am purging. It takes every ounce of my energy to purge. I had like 20 years of bags and wrapping papper, all gone now, except for a bag or two. We used to re-use those shirt boxes at Christmas time and put a "stick" tag over the old one!!!
Love your new headers.

I do the same thing but come by it honestly. My Mother used to iron the used paper and re-use it/iron it year after year. I draw the line at saving gift bags.

I like saving bags too. The tag is funny. I cracked up.

Ha,that's great! I like to save the bags too, because they do fold up nicely and you can wrap most anything in a flash! I usually don't write on the tag it comes with so they can use the baga again if they want. Just put a card inside on top!

Totally a bag saver and re-user here. My only gripe is when people tape a name tag ON the bag and I have to figure out how to cover that up with another tag when I reuse it!

I save, too. Bags. And boxes. And tissue paper. And cool wrapping paper, especially Mylar. But I do remove the tags.

I am that person for my family. I love the bags because they can be used over and over. I do fold paper but rarely use it. Mostly just the bags.

Oh...I thought everyone saved bags! And yes, I cut off the tags...I create new ones by cutting the front off of the greeting cards that I have saved.

Oh, and I also iron tissue paper. If anyone wants to send me theirs...use my yahoo email address. I'll send you my mailing address. That clean paper does not belong in the landfill!!!

Take care ~Natalie

LOL - I don't save paper or bows, but I totally save those bags. We go to way too many kids' parties to keep buying them all the time. Glad to know I'm not the only one!

I hoard the ribbons - I have little scraps of ribbon in drawers, cupboards, boxes, etc. When I was a kid growing up we always had a big box full of the previous years wrapping papers that got recycled at Christmas - that was really of necessity back then.

Yep, I do that too, as do my friends. If I am handing a gift over personally, I don't write on the tag, so they can use it next time. You get some really gorgeous bags now.

If I am not using bags I quite like to use brown paper to wrap presents, but buy a luxurious satin ribbon to tie around it.

My mom used to save all of our wrapping paper. I don't do that but I do save the bags. I'm laughing at the scratched out name. So funny.

We're bag savers but we do get new tags. That is too funny, Pam!
