A blog about food, and a little about reading, and some sewing, and I might even knit something.
Kiwi Cuvee, 2009, France, Sauvignon Blanc. $8.99. They say: grassy and gooseberry aromas. We say: we really need to try a gooseberry some time. Grassy, smooth, citrus, bright flavor, totally yummy. Buy again: yes!
Do gooseberries even exist? i've never seen them. Ever. Maybe I need to find this wine. Live vicariously through it.
Grassy and gooseberry aromas sound a bit strange to me. Maybe because I've been picking up dog poop in the yard. However, "totally yummy" does have a ring to it.
I really like that you do this. We reviewed several wines last night and I'm feeling poorly today and deservedly so.
Gooseberry pie is absolutely to die for..tart but smoothly so and oh so lovely. I can't imagine how wonderful this wine is and we'll be looking for it asap.
Yes, gooseberries do exist. The last time I ran into some was at a farmers' market near the Purdue University campus a few years back. I've made gooseberry pie from canned ones. They are VERY sour and need lots of sugar. Thanks for the review. We are always on the lookout for good wines.Best,Bonnie
Looks good, Pam. I'll put it on my list!Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
