Kiwi Cuvee Sauvignon Blanc

Kiwi Cuvee, 2009, France, Sauvignon Blanc.  $8.99.  They say:  grassy and gooseberry aromas.  We say:  we really need to try a gooseberry some time.  Grassy, smooth, citrus, bright flavor, totally yummy.  Buy again:  yes!

Gooseberry pie is absolutely to die for..tart but smoothly so and oh so lovely. I can’t imagine how wonderful this wine is and we’ll be looking for it asap.

Yes, gooseberries do exist. The last time I ran into some was at a farmers’ market near the Purdue University campus a few years back. I’ve made gooseberry pie from canned ones. They are VERY sour and need lots of sugar.

Thanks for the review. We are always on the lookout for good wines.

    Best,
    Bonnie
