Blueberry Infused Vodka

Blueberry Infused Vodka

So, yeah, I bought a bunch of vodka, and have set about doing all sorts of things with it!  Yesterday, I showed you my soon to be limoncello.  Today, it’s blueberry infused vodka.  Why?  Because Whole Foods had blueberries on sale and I bought 4 containers of them.

I did a whole bunch of Google searching to find a recipe or method that sounded good (and easy) to me.  I settled on Blueberry Infused Vodka from

Blueberry Infused Vodka

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
    1 tablespoon granulated sugar
    1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
    1 liter vodka

In a medium bowl, mix the blueberries with the sugar and lemon juice.  Gently break the skins of the blueberries with the back of a spoon.  You don’t want to crush them, just break the skin.  Add this mixture to a large clean jar, with a tight fitting lid and add the vodka.  Allow to steep for 2 to 4 weeks, shaking the jar daily (or whenever you remember).  When it’s done steeping, strain the fruit and store in a cool dark place.

I plan on using this in some of my frozen pops, sorbets, ice tea…all sorts of ideas!

This will be my entry for Foodie Friday at Designs by Gollum!
