Contadino Pinot Grigio, 2010, Italy, $4.99, Trader Joes. They say: light crisp and easy drinking wine. Has hints of apple and pear with underlying tones of something more exotic. We say: very light, little bit of fruit, a little tropical, tastes kind of watered down. Buy again: probably not. ***Note – we rarely drink Pinot Grigios – so we really don’t know what to expect. The only thing I know about them is that Ramona on the Real Housewives will drink nothing else to the point of obnoxiousness. So, if you are a Pinot Grigio person, feel free to enlighten me, otherwise, you can use your own judgment as to whether or not you listen to my opinion on this!

It's probs best to not be like Ramona...maybe all that pinot grigio is how she got her crazy eyes.
We like this wine, but it is very light - good for a hot summer evening (perhaps even with an ice cube if there wasn't time to chill it). It's more refreshing than an oakey chardonnay. We tend to like wines in spurts - got sick of chardonnay (oakey or otherwise), and turned toward pinot grigio after trying chablis again and not much liking it. What I really miss is chenin blanc - can't find it any more, and I want to see how I'd like it now.
I prefer red but have found during the summer months a pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc hits the spot.
Don't let this experience seal the deal for you on pinot grigio. Try it again, next summer. :-)

I like Pinot as an every once in a while, different kind of thing. All the time? Haven't found that one yet...
