Waste not, want not. Vodka soaked lemon peels.

Vodka lemon peels

Remember back when I made limoncello over the summer?  Well, once it was finished, I had these vodka soaked lemon peels leftover.  I am loathe to throw anything food related away, especially when they have spent the majority of their lives soaked in vodka.  So, I stuck them in a jar in the freezer (which also contains vodka soaked blueberries and cranberries, because soaking things in vodka is a hobby of mine).

  iced tea

What does one do with vodka soaked lemon peels?  Why put them their iced tea of course!  I also think these will be delightful in hot tea this winter.

This will be my entry for Foodie Friday at Designs by Gollum!

Being in Oregon, the concept of it not becoming winter is strange to me... I've been drinking hot tea for weeks.. but then, we scoot off to Baskins and Robins in December just a easily as in July...

You are so resourceful! I need to start soaking things in vodka...I'm thinking cranberries to start with!

So, in your case, the proper Ben Franklin quote would be, "Vodka is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy!"

The "soaking things in vodka is a hobby of mine" made me chuckle. Sounds like a good hobby to have! I have some vanilla soaking in vodka...but this looks good too!
