Banana “Nice” Cream

Bananas

Do you remember in June when I posted   Banana Ginger Granita?  That post was such an eye opener to me.  I could have a creamy ice cream like dish every night of the week if I wanted, and not only was it good, but it was good for me.  Since then I have taken that concept and ran with it.

Whenever I go grocery shopping, I buy a bunch of bananas.  I bring them home and chop them up two at a time and put them in lidded containers in the freezer.  As we sit down to dinner, I bring out one of these perfectly proportioned containers and sit it on the counter.  Then after dinner, I toss the bananas in my food processor, add a couple of tablespoons of liquid (milk, sometimes keffir, sometimes yogurt), and whirl them up till they’re smooth and creamy.  Amazing.  Sometimes I toss in a few other frozen fruits like raspberries, blueberries or strawberries.  Maybe I’ll had a drizzle of chocolate syrup.  You are only limited by your imagination.

Now, go make dessert.  It’s good for you.

Good heavens, where have I been? I’ve missed a ton of posts! Love Christmas cactus. Our florist gets it in way too early unfortunately and it’s long gone by December. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen any there this year. Hmmm. Love fiestaware, but don’t have any. :(
Also love ribs and haven’t had them in AGES!!
Now this banana dessert….I’ve seen it someplace but frozen and served like ice cream. Double yum. Here’s an odd thing, I don’t buy a lot of bananas ’cause it’s just me and they go bad quickly down here. There are just so many banana things one can make with black bananas. (Quick Weight Loss doesn’t allow them either.)

Oh! And that flourless cake? It wasn’t like any I’ve made before. We like flourless cakes too, but this one was a stinker to make.

I love bananas, but you probably guessed that, since I’ve mentioned that I order a case of them at a time! this is a great dessert idea!

Yep – can’t believe I went so long without knowing how great frozen banana ice cream is – my kids will love this and it’s good for them too!
