Weekend Wine Reviews #91 ~ Pinot Evil Pinot Noir

Pinot Evil Pinot Noir

Yes, I bought a wine simply because it was called Pinot Evil.  Are you surprised?

Pinot Evil, Pinot Noir, France. $7.99, Cost Plus World Market.  They say:  Pinot Evil dances with a lovely ripe cherry nose that cascades into a smooth, velvet finish.  We say:  cherry, light, not very complex.  Pleasant.  Buy again:  maybe.  Nothing special, but not offensive.

That is an awesome name for Pinot, which usually have such boring names!

Ha! I think I would buy it just for the name too...I often buy because of the label. Clever name, I guess we're lucky the monkey wasn't covering that part...hence the name :o

The hubs and I found this a few years ago and like you bought it because of the clever name. We actually enjoyed it and at that price point ended up buying a case to use for every day drinking. I haven't been able to find it in a while (I live in Maryland and bought it from a wine store, not World Market since we don't have any close by) but would definitely give it a whirl again if I did.

lol! I sell a "true blood" pinot noir and I know it sells for the name!

Not so evil then?

So it turns out to be a decent table wine. That's good.
