Foxglove Chardonnay, 2009, $12.79, Varner, California. We say: smooth, full mouth feel, doesn’t have that rich buttery flavor that we love in a Chardonnay. Buy again: probably not. Not offensive, but nothing outstanding either.
The wine is aged in stainless steel and does not go thru malolactic fermentation. Malolactic fermentation is where the naturally occurring malic acid (which is tart tasting) is converted into lactic acid (which gives a softer, buttery flavor so therefore it will not have a butter tate.

I'm a buttery Chardonnay kind of gal too. Thanks for the honest review Pam. Hope you're having a great weekend.
