Garden Tuesday ~ Missouri Primrose

Missouri Primrose

These delicate pink flowers bring back such memories for me.  When my girls were little, they were visiting a family a few houses up the street from us.  And by visiting, I mean they were playing on the street, and probably the mom offered them food.  They would visit anyone for food!

But after a visit, they all came back with a handful of flowers clutched in their tiny, sweating hands.  They looked like they had been pulled up like weeds, roots dangling, flowers wilted.  They were so pleased, though, so I planted them, and figured that was then end of that.

Not so.  These things have taken over and flourished.  If my husband would let me get rid of the lawn, I would have a field of these.

So, enjoy the lovely pink flowers, and guess what????  It’s my birthday!!!  So have an extra good day just for me, okay!

Please join me for Garden Tuesday.

when my sons were little, we lived across the street from a cherry orchard which was covered with wild mustard every Spring. Every year they would bring me huge bunches which we displayed in mayonnaise jars throughout the house. I never had the heart to tell them I was terribly allergic and that caused my sneezing fits all through wild mustard season.

thank you for reminding me of such a sweet memory.

Hope you had a marvelous birthday day!
