I was excited when a local nursery had a pot of “lemongrass” in their herb section. I had never grown it before and was looking forward to fresh lemongrass for my Thai favorites.

But after cutting off a few stalks, there was something I noticed. Something Coco is noticing.

This does not smell or taste anything like lemongrass.

We are not amused.

This will be my entry for The Saturday Pet Blogger Hop!

LOL! Loved this post. Cats, gardens -- filled with adventure!
boo! on the nursery for fooling you...but Coco looks lovely posing in the garden
Poor Coco - those bait and switch tactics are NOT amusing at all!
We just planted a batch of cat grass in a sweater box the size of a cookie sheet for everyone to snack on during the winter months.
They snack - but we didn't plan on them deciding to nap in it as well! HA!
Oh, these gave me a good laugh this morning! Thanks, Coco!
And here I was all excited about you finding real lemongrass to plant!
Exactly. You are not growing lemongrass. You are indeed let some wild bushes grow at the back of your house. Lemongrass leaves are a little bit different. They are broader and longer. Anyway, Coco is fantastic as always.
I'd love to grow some lemongrass. What do you think it is? Just some sort of plain-ol grass? Great photos.
Disappointing! Coco makes it look good, though.
That is a riot! Love all of cocos expressions!
LMAO, great post.
Can you imagine how bad cocoa and lemongrass would taste together?
Funny, our cat was twice adopted and was already named Cocoa when we got him but now I wonder if it is Coco. Never thought about it until I see how you spell Coco's name.
I wonder what it is - it looks like wild grass. Coco looks exceptionally beautiful!
