Garden Tuesday ~A Few More Signs of Spring

Thyme

Well, my thyme is not really a sign of spring since it sticks around for most of the winter, however, it is starting to look a little more green and alive.

Hardy Cyclamen

I’ve posted before about hardy cyclamen.  Such an unusual plant and perfect for a shady spot.  It is all leafed out this time of the year.

Creeping St. John's Wort

I believe that this is creeping St. John’s Wort.  It stayed this lovely pale green color all winter and has started to sprout new leaves.  I know some people know St. John’s Wort as an herbal treatment for depression, but it is really a lovely plant.  We also have the non creeping version, which makes a small shrub with pretty yellow flowers.

Sedum Autumn Joy

And peeking out from all the brown stalks and leaves is my sedum Autumn Joy waking up.

How about you what it in your garden this week?

Spring is sure having a tough time breaking thru winter – we had light flurries on and off all day Mon and woke this AM to a very light snow coating on the deck.

First of all, beautiful poses from Patchouli!
Second….those birds. What was up with that? Yes, scary movie for sure and I think about it often when I see them lined up on telephone lines. But this was another thing entirely! Yikes.
Glad to see spring is sprouting, finally.

I agree, Big Dude. “Oy! The weather!” (Lion King) 68 deg yesterday, though, and more like it today. Wish I had lovely pics to share.
