So, you all know that I retired from teaching and basically work from home all day long (except when I'm out doing a photo shoot). My computer is in the basement - which you might remember is Patchouli's apartment since she can't get along with Coco. Our basement is one big room that has sort of been divided into two, one room has the computers and desks and the other room has a futon and a tv. Patchouli's room is the futon room. It has a window for her to look out and watch the birdies and a comfortable futon to call her own.
So, we are basically together all day long. She is usually sleeping or watching the birds out the window. The only time I see her is when I feed her or when she walks by me to the door to be let outside. That's it. Like right now as I type this, she is in her room and I am in mine.
On Friday and Saturday nights, Mr. Sidewalk Shoes comes down into the computer room and he gets on his computer, while I work on mine. We are side by side, each with a corner desk with a small table between us. In a matter of minutes, Patchouli is over and on his lap. She spends the entire night on his lap.
Now, I probably wouldn't be able to get anything done if she was draped over me like this all day. But still!!

So would you say that Coco is "your" kitty? It reminds me of my parents when I was a teenager--Mom had "her" cat (named Cali, looks like Coco, randomly showed up one day like Coco) and Dad had "his" cat. Their cats did NOT like each other at all--but they both had to share the same space.

In essence, biting the hand that feeds her. So typical of cats.

This is very similar to our house. My husband is the one they all adore ...
