I know. This so-called-cooking-blog has not had a single drop of cooking this week. And geuss what? It still doesn’t. Unless you count, toasting bread, as cooking. Which, I do, by the way.
I love Costco. Number one reason is their wine selection. Number two reason is the samples. I love to eat my way through all of their samples. Where else can you combine crab salad, with tiramisu, with tortilla rolls, and call it lunch?
During a recent lunch time excursion, I sampled their bruschetta, and promptly fell in love. This jarred sauce, which is refrigerated, tastes so fresh. It literally tastes as good as anything I could make (warning..it’s very garlicky, but as long as all around you are eating it, life is good). They served it over, already sliced fresh mozzarella cheese. Could it be any easier?
So, I bought some lovely, local sourdough bread. Toasted it, topped with mozzarella cheese, spooned on some of the bruschetta sauce and called it lunch. Yum.

Well you didn't really cook it, but that seems like a pretty darn good lunch. Guess what I am gonna have tomorrow for lunch?!

There's a Costco down that way? What parts?
I'm heading to our Chattanooga office on Monday and might have to make a stop:)

Yep, sounds like cooking to me too . . . the easier the better!! Sometimes there is just less time and this is perfect. I'd totally love this for a light snackish dinner after having a larger lunch.

Ha! We're always miffed if we get to Costco and they're late getting the sample booths set up!
Trader Joe's has a great jarred Bruschetta too! When are you guys gonna get a Trader Joe's???

Hey, if it requires food, an appliance, and a utensil, then it's cooking.

This however seems like a perfect treat.

Sounds good to me, even the simplest things are sometimes more than what other non-cooks do! Thanks for posting this, we like to know about good quality jarred foods! We should be getting a Cosco by us soon!

Sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. And sometimes that involves eating bruschetta from a jar. it happens.

Looks like lunch to me. And how much cooking has my cooking blog done this week? You are not alone. Sometimes we just get distracted, and then there's bruschetta from a jar to rescue us.

That sounds like cooking to me -- and it's more than I have done all week! Sometimes I buy things at Costco on a whim, and they turn out to be totally delicious products. I don't have that experience at any other big box store, but Costco's food is really a cut above. (And they're not paying me to say that.)

A perfect lunch, too.
