I've talked before about how Patchouli doesn't get out much. She is such a scaredy cat and all the other cats know it. They rush at her, just to watch her cower. The thing is, she is a pretty good sized cat with lots of muscle. She is bigger and stronger than any of them and could easily kick their butts if she would just stand up for herself. But she won't.
She doesn't make it on the blog too often because she is usually in her basement apartment, laying at her window, which looks out onto the bird feeder. So, when I saw her up in the dogwood tree, I just had to snap a few photos of her. Everyone loves a good cat in the tree photo, right?
You might think that she climbed up there to enjoy the view. Oh, there are times that she gets frisky and dashes up the tree. I don't think this was one of those times, though, because this was what was at the base of the tree.
Yep. I have no idea how long it took me to resolve this situation, but it was a while. As soon as I bent down to pick up mean old Coco, she took off running. I finally captured her and carried her inside. I just hurriedly slipped her inside and went back to the tree. My husband, who had no idea what was going on, saw her at the front door wanting out, let her out! So, while I was trying to coax Patchouli down, Coco shows up again. I finally caught her again, put her inside and told the hubs to not let her out under any circumstances. I went back outside to try and convince Patchouli that Coco was gone. I tried cat toys, string, yarn, and even catnip to try and get her down. Finally she came down and the crisis was over!
For the artsy photo, I used Topaz Labs.

Poor Patchouli! Seriously though, she must be pretty agile. It is majestic to see a cat of that size in a tree. I honestly cannot see Alice doing that (she's probably almost as big as Patchouli, but the short hair makes her look smaller).
Love the art shot!
ATCAD- Scylla,Chimera,Yin,Yang, Fenris & Tuiren says
Patchouli would you like Yinny to come over to teach Coco some manners? Yang is our big baby here, although his sisters are usually pretty nice to him and Fenris is his best buddy.

She looks big and strong and darn beautiful in that tree. Dexter is content pretending to stalk the morning doves from the other side of the screen, lol. That's kind of stressful, I think I'd freak out. My friend growing up had a pretty cat that looks a lot like Coco.

I heard of 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", but I think I prefer, "Patchouli in a Dogwood Tree". It has a very good storyline! 🙂

Oh dear, Patchouli is such a sweet soul.

Some of ours love tree climbing and enjoy it a lot.

I gotta admire her of looking so happy up that tree, and for being so adept and agile. I Think I'd need a set of ladders to get me u that far. MOL
Have a lovely week, and thanks for such a smashing selfie of Patchouli

The whole story is pretty funny! The big, gentle souls are often the most timid, wouldn't you say? It's a good thing that you were there to help poor Patchouli; who knows how long Coco would have teased her.

Love those photos on the tree! Glad she got down safely.

This is totally incredible. She actually looks too big to climb a tree, but she certainly is gorgeous in her perch. Misty May used to climb our dogwood tree all the time and go on the porch roof, which is metal. I'd hear her walking around up there. I hate that CoCo bullies her, and she is frightened. We go through the same thing with Misty May bullying Astrid. It seems there's always one meanie among the group. So happy your girl finally came down.
Michelle Knutson says
Oh Pam. Great photos. And I have the same thing going on in my house. The littlest guy will bully his sister and she is three times his size
Roby Sweet says
Sounds like a good old-fashioned cat drama! At least you got some good photos out of it.

That was a great story. I loved the photos of her in the tree. Sometimes it's hard to have courage, even if your mighty.
Glad she got down safely.
Have a great weekend.
