The Bees and I Both Love Russian Sage
It seems that the bees and I both love my Russian Sage. Do you grow Russian Sage in your garden? It's not the herb sage, but rather an ornamental plant. Mine grows into a light and airy almost shrublike plant. It gets about 2-3 feet tall and wide. When it's stems drop over and touch the ground, a new plant roots easily. I love it's delicate lavender blossoms, that almost look like lavender! It's rare that I find it without a bee or two on it!
I have to confess that my garden is in shambles. After a bazillion days of 90+ degree heat and no rain, the only that's growing is the weeds. Since it's been so hot, I haven't been out weeding, so the weeds won. They won big time. Not just the weeds, but somehow even the grass has grown into my beds. We have this horrible kind of grass that started in our yard because one of our neighbors planted it. It makes a nice green even carpet, but it spreads with these underground runners. It ends up everywhere. I looked at my bed by my mailbox and it is halfway filled with grass!
My pink roses and my hibiscus are making one final showing before frost!

I love Russian Sage, but lost mine when we moved four years ago. And it seems the weeds always win here...and yes, the grass is the worst! I'm sure the roots are a mile long!
It was nice visiting with you.... I came by the Maple Hill 101 blog hop.

I've only ever grown the herb variety and with mixed success. Our gardens here are being battered by gusting winds. In our nation's capital, they lost 30 trees in and around the local primary school. Luckily, no one was injured.

Russian Sage is on my list of plants to include in a new perennial garden. I've been meaning to grow it for years and didn't have space to fit it in. I will now.
