A selection of 16 of our favorite New Years Appetizers and Cocktails!
Perfect for parties or just the two of you staying in!
I admit it, we rarely go out for New Years any more. I am content to stay at home, make sparkling cocktails and nibble on food. Sometimes I even make it to midnight!
Whether it's just you or you plus all your friends, I have some of the best New Years Appetizers and Cocktails for you to choose from!
New Years cocktails.
Let's start with cocktails, shall we!
My only requirement for a New Years cocktail is that it be sparkling. Sure you could drink a glass of champagne, but it's so much more fun to create a sparkling cocktail!
We start off with the classic French 75 Cocktail, which is made with champagne and gin.
Last year, we made a French 75, then we tried a French 76 (made with vodka and champagne) and then a French 77 (made with elderflower liqueur and champagne.)
While not a traditional festive cocktail, we love an Aperol Spritz. Made with Aperol, Prosecco and club soda.
If your party goes into the wee hours of the morning, you could switch over to more brunch style cocktails.
We take two classics and give them a little twist.
Instead of the usual orange juice we use grapefruit juice in our Grapefruit Mimosa.
Strawberries replace peaches in our Strawberry Bellini.
New Years appetizers.
Now that you have your cocktails sorted out, let's move on to appetizers.
You'll want to have a bowl of these Bourbon Candied Pecans ready as soon as the guests arrive, they are perfect for nibbling.
For nibbling we love dips and chips.
A Caponata is an unusual dip that everyone loves and will be asking you for the recipe! You can serve with some Spicy Pita Chips for easy dipping.
If you're making a cheese board, you must include our Rosemary Goat Cheese, Rosemary Marinated Olives and Italian Giardiniera.
Our newest dip on the blog is a Roasted Red Pepper Dip. Print off recipes because everyone will want one!
We have two shrimp recipes that are perfect for snacking. Salt and Shrimp is always welcome and people will be licking their fingers with our Herb Roasted Lemon Garlic Shrimp!
And people can't stop eating bread dipped in our Carrabba's Bread Dip.
There you have it, a collection of our favorite appetizers and cocktails for your festive party! Whether it's a party of one, two or more, we have the perfect appetizer or cocktail for you!
