Grilling Kabobs
I have a love hate relationship with grilling with skewers or kabobs. I hate how the food twists when you try and turn them. I love how you can combine your meat and veggies all in one skewer. I hate that even though you soak the bamboo skewers, they still burn. I love how much fun it is to eat food off of a stick. Food on a stick is the quintessential summer food, so even with the trials and tribulations of grilling it, it still happens quite a bit here in the summer. Like this Grilled Tahini Pork Skewers - full of fun of flavor!
Grilled Tahini Pork Skewers
Reorganizing my pantry, I found a jar of Tahini that had just a few months left on it's expiration date. I usually use it for hummus, but wanted to try something different. I found this Char-Grilled Tahini Pork Skewers at Donna Hay. It was perfect. The pork gets lots of flavor from the Tahini marinade and then the rest of the marinade is used as a dipping sauce. Her recipe uses only pork, since I wanted to turn it into a main dish, I added zucchini and onions to the skewers and served it over rice.

I hate it too when the food turns with sewers, but when it's grilled like that, it has a certain flavor so I love it. 🙂 Great ingredients!

Wow - that tahini sauce sounds great! There is something primal about eating food on a stick - even if it takes the extra effort. I don't eat pork, so I'll give this a try on chicken!
