Easy Weeknight Grilling
You might have noticed a pattern here lately. First I showed you these fantastic grilled Lemongrass Pork Skewers with Peas and Rice Noodle Salad and Grilled Tahini Pork Skewers and now today's Harissa Beef Skewers with Tahini Slaw.
I am totally loving this concept. It works so well for me on Sundays. I make the salad a head of time and cut the meat. Then when it's close to supper time, I just marinate the meat, or brush it, grill it and bam, you have dinner.
Tahini Slaw - Amazing!
This slaw was amazing, quite possibly my most favorite slaw recipe. The secret ingredient? Tahini! Who knew?
The dressing is made with Greek-style yogurt and tahini. It's a fantastic combination, the tahini gives it a little hint of a nutty flavor. Lemon juice adds a bit of tartness to it. Then dill, sultanas, and pine nuts add even more flavor. I found this recipe in Donna Hay's magazine Feb-March 2015.
Harissa Beef Skewers with Tahini Slaw
Then resting on top of the fantastic slaw are these grilled Harissa beef skewers. Harissa paste is mixed with olive oil and brushed over the beef before it gets a quick grill. It adds just the right amount of spiciness and is such an easy way to add so much flavor! This is the easiest grilled dinner ever!
A tip to make grilling easier is to always start with a clean grill. I preheat mine for 15 minutes on high and then give it a good brushing with a grill brush. Another grilling tip is especially for food on skewers. When I used round skewers, my food would always spin around and I couldn't grill it evenly. The secret to better skewers? Flat skewers! Meat and veggies don't spin around on them!

These skewers look marvelous, the guys would be all over these. I really need to get on the harissa bandwagon as so far I have not bought any or used it in any way and it is all over the place these days. Thanks for the inspiration. Thinking of you and hoping you are all doing well and able to enjoy sweet memories of your mother to help you through the grief. xo

Is the slaw made with cabbage? It says cabbage in your directions but not in your ingredient list. I also had to google Sultanas to find out they're grapes! Still, it looks like a great flavor combination! Thanks for the inspiration.
