So, I needed to get some photos for Caturday. I glanced out the window and saw Coco sitting on the path in our backyard. Perfect! I ran outside to get some good photos of her. I'm sure it will come as no surprise to anyone, but during this whole set of photos, I am a few feet behind her calling her name. Calling and calling. You can see her ears moving a little in response. While it's frustrating, this is also what I love about cats. The attitude. The just-not-in-the-mood-for-you-today sort of attitude. A dog would have turned around and come leaping up at me with unbounded love. Coco? I get a tiny turn of her head.
A profile shot was the most that she would give me!! I used this one for her Caturday Art Photo:

But there is sooooo much to see in all that green grass. Bugs, critters, and that minor thing of attitude to the people is never a bad thing.

Cocoa is beautiful! We cats have selective hearing. Don't worry - en we want something we'll let you know!
Robin says
Coco is quite the beauty! Cats do have the most selective of hearing. Manna gives "the ear" all of the time. I suppose that for cats, it just isn't important to watch another person's face while they communicate with you.

Gorgeous pictures!
Kitties Blue says
We kitties always have better things to do than to pay attention to peeps, unless they are reading or on the computer. Then they are ever so fascinating. Look at it this way, we all got to see CoCo's gorgeous furs. Thanks for hopping. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Why should you co-operate if you don't want to, Coco. You have a beautiful back which makes up for not seeing your face.

Coco's selfie was great, despite lace of cooperation. Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Such beautiful photos. Coco sure is a beauty - the perfect model.
My male cat acts just like a dog. . .always responding to his name. . .always running when you call him. My female cat on the other hand is very much like Coco. The Mr. claims she doesn't know her name. . .but on rare occasions I will get her to acknowledge my call (and when I'm really lucky and she wants something she'll even come) so I believe she does indeed know her name but chooses to practice selective hearing. It sort of baffles me because I have never had an animal like this. That said, we might have something to learn from this behavior. 😉

There was obviously something else holding Coco's attention. 🙂
