A few photos of my melon red azaleas blooming in my Southeast Tennessee Garden for Garden Tuesday.
Azalea season was tricky this year. We had such a warm winter that they came into bud very early. Then we had a very small, but below freezing cold snap. Blossoms went from just opened to brown in a few days. It really effected our white azaleas because they are always the first to bloom. These azaleas faired much better. What would you call this color? I struggled to come up with something that would adequately describe them.
They aren't red, not pink and not really coral. Maybe a watermelon red? What do you think?
How is your garden doing this year? I am really working on mine, trying to keep it neat and weeded. We'll see.

I think watermelon red is the perfect description 🙂 I miss having azaleas.... I think they're going on my list of wants for my garden.

I call our salmon colored. We had 40 azaleas in the front area and some on the sides of the house. They will overtake you if not trimmed!

I am watermelon with envy! We had rain, rain and more rain which ruined the azaleas here. Not that I have many. Just one. A miniature but it usually covers itself in glory. Oh well, perhaps next year.
