What a winter this has been. Or more like, what a winter this hasn't been. It has been so warm and so boring this winter. We finally got a dusting of snow Saturday night. At first they were calling for 2-3 inches, which is pretty exciting around here. As the time grew closer though, it diminished a little each time they forecasted the weather. Until we barely got anything. I still ran outside to photograph it before it disappeared.
This winter has been so bad for the blooming trees. Many bloomed early and then went from blooms to brown almost over night when we had a two day cold snap. Now they are calling for below freezing temps for 3 nights in a row this week. I'm afraid my blueberry bushes will not be producing any berries this year!
I hope the cold snap doesn't effect these oakleaf hydrangeas. It seems like it is so early for them to be this far along.
Our last frost free date is April 15th and not to wish away time, but I do wish it would just go ahead and get here. I'm tired of worrying about early blooming plants.

I usually hope for the big snows but this was one that I was so glad to hear fizzled because I was driving back from Florida.

I have 2 feet and counting, and it's only 1PM. The snow is supposed to continue all day. Oh, joy.

Beautiful photos. A little snow is so pretty. We have 7 inches so far today and lots more to come, not so pretty.

That dusting of snow is very pretty though, just enough to appreciate the beauty of the blooms and that light frosting. We don't get snow in north Florida. It's a momentous occasion if we get flurries and the entire town shuts down!

Hasn't snowed here since 1957. Or was it 1953?
