Spicy Cucumber Gin - Make it!!

So, remember last week when I made Spicy Cucumber Gin?   You did drop whatever it was you were doing and make some didn't you?  You did rush out and buy Infuse: Oil, Spirit, Water?  Good.  Then we are all set.  I spent a few days admiring my lovely pale green Spicy Cucumber Gin.  Oh, I know some of it was going to go in a gin and tonic, my cocktail of choice.  But I thought I should start with something a little more simple.

    Gin Martini

Something that would let the infusion in the gin shine.  What better way than with a martini.  A martini lets gin stand up and say, "Notice me."  Which is what my spicy cucumber gin had been saying to me for days.  So, a classic simple martini was called for.

Martinis are fairly polarizing.  Shaken vs. Stirred, Dirty Martini vs. Clean Martini, or Gin vs. Vodka.  Being a gin girl, that was a no brainer.  While I love shaking a cocktail, there is something about stirring a martini that just sets the mood.  All of a sudden, I feel all rat pack-ish, like Dean Martin is waiting on the couch for his martini.

    Spicy Cucumber Martini - Amazing!!

Oh baby.  This was everything I hoped it would be.  The cucumber was there, subtle but present.  Then there was that little kick of heat on the back of your throat.  This is my new favorite martini, that is until I finish my next infusion.  I am quite fickle when it comes to my cocktails.  The one in my hand is usually my favorite.
