Blood Orange Whiskey Sour
Enjoy the fleeting blood orange season with these Blood Orange Whiskey Sours. Blood oranges not only turn this cocktail into a gorgeous color, but add a sweetness to it too!

- 6 ice cubes
- 2 ounces whiskey
- 1 ounce blood orange juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon simple syrup
- 1 maraschino cherry
- orange slice garnish
Add ice to cocktail shaker.
Pour the whiskey, blood orange juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup over the ice. Cover and shake vigorously about 20 seconds or until frost forms.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and decorate with a cherry and an orange slice.
Tip - cut a thin slice out of the center of the orange before juicing to use as a garnish.
Tip - Make a larger batch of simple syrup by combining 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Store in a bottle in the refrigerator with a date on it, it should last for about a month.
