Strawberry Amaretto Frozen Yogurt
Rich and creamy and bursting with strawberries! The Amaretto adds a subtle almond flavor and keeps the yogurt from freezing too hard, keeping it extra creamy!
- 3 cups Strawberries coarsely chopped
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 1/2 cups Plain Yogurt
- 1/4 cup Amaretto
Add strawberries and sugar to a food processor and process until smooth.
Add yogurt and Amaretto to food processor and give it a quick pulse, just to combine.
Pour strawberry mixture into a bowl and refrigerate for an hour.
Pour strawberry mixture into ice cream maker and process according to instructions.
Store in a lidded container in the refrigerator.
Strawberries - can use fresh or frozen.
Plain Yogurt - can use full fat, low fat, or non fat. Full fat will make the creamiest frozen yogurt.
Amaretto - this almond liqueur adds a subtle almond flavor and since alcohol doesn't freeze, this helps keep the yogurt from freezing too hard and helps it stay creamy.
