Ingredients

  • 3 cups Strawberries coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 ½ cups Plain Yogurt
  • ¼ cup Amaretto

Instructions

  • Add strawberries and sugar to a food processor and process until smooth.
  • Add yogurt and Amaretto to food processor and give it a quick pulse, just to combine.
  • Pour strawberry mixture into a bowl and refrigerate for an hour.
  • Pour strawberry mixture into ice cream maker and process according to instructions.
  • Store in a lidded container in the refrigerator.

Notes

Strawberries - can use fresh or frozen.
Plain Yogurt - can use full fat, low fat, or non fat.   Full fat will make the creamiest frozen yogurt.
Amaretto - this almond liqueur adds a subtle almond flavor and since alcohol doesn't freeze, this helps keep the yogurt from freezing too hard and helps it stay creamy.
