Southside Cocktail

This easy four ingredient classic gin cocktail will become your easy go to gin cocktail! So tasty and refreshing!

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces gin dry
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice freshly squeezed and strained
  • 2 teaspoons simple syrup
  • 6 mint leaves plus more for garnish

Instructions

  • In a cocktail shaker combine the gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and mint leaves.
  • Fill the shaker 3/4 full with ice.
  • Put a lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
  • Strain into a martini glass and garnish with fresh mint.

Notes

Simple Syrup - equal parts water and sugar, heated in a small saucepan until the sugar dissolves.  Store in a lidded jar in the refrigerator for up to one month. 
To keep the cocktail clear, strain the pulp from the fresh squeezed lemon juice with a fine mesh strainer.
