Sourdough Sandwich Bread

This bread machine sourdough sandwich bread is so easy to make and has the most amazing flavor, texture and crumb! It makes the best sandwiches!

Instructions

  • Place the milk, starter and then the butter cubes in the bread machine pan.
  • Evenly place the 3 cups of flour over the liquid ingredients.
  • Using a spoon, make three small wells in the flour and place the sugar, salt, and yeast each in one of the indentations.
  • Place in the bread machine and choose regular white bread.
  • When the machine beeps (mine takes 3 hours and 50 minutes) carefully pull out the pan (it's hot!) and remove the bread.
  • Let cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Note - follow the instructions in your bread machine manual to determine the order to add the ingredients.  Mine has you had wet ingredients first. 
If the bread sticks a little to the paddle, turn the pan over and tap it, straight down, on the counter to loosen the bread.
