Bread Machine Buttermilk Whole Wheat Bread

The perfect light whole wheat, with a combination of bread flour and whole wheat flour! Makes great sandwiches!

  • Place the kneading paddles in the bread pan.
  • Pour in the buttermilk, oil and maple syrup in the bred pan.
  • Add the two types of flour and gluten. Make small indentations for the salt, yeast and gluten.
  • Set the crust on medium and program for either your regular bread cycle or the whole wheat cycle.
  • When the bread machine ends, remove the pan from the machine and remove the bread. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

I use Instant yeast, active dry yeast and bread machine yeast interchangeably.  I use active dry yeast the most often because I buy big bags of it from King Arthur.
Gluten - optional, but does create a lighter loaf with a higher rise.
