Ingredients
¾
cup
cocoa powder
1
cup
dark cherries
pitted and diced
¾
cup
sugar
2
tbsp
cherry brandy
optional
Instructions
Heat 2 cups of water to a boil in a small saucepan.
Whisk in the cocoa powder and when it is incorporated, whisk in the sugar and stir until it's dissolved.
Remove from the heat and stir in the brandy.
Pour into a bowl and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
Process in ice cream maker per instructions.
When finished, fold in cherries. Scoop into a lidded container and store in the freezer.
Notes
The cherry brandy is optional, but it adds flavor and keeps the sorbet from freezing so hard.
