Mixed Berry Crisp

Summer berries get topped with an easy oat topping that bakes up crispy and sweet! So easy! Lovely topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Berry Mixture

  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom or cinnamon

Crisp Topping

  • cup oats
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp butter cut into ¼ inch dice
  • salt pinch

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350.
  • Combine the ingredients for the berry mixture in a medium bowl. Stir to coat the berries.
  • Spoon berries into casserole dish or pie plate.
  • Combine the topping ingredients in a bowl. Using your fingers, work the butter into the dry ingredients, until it forms a coarse crumb.
  • Spread topping on berries.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.

Notes

Use whatever berries you have - you just want a total of about 5 cups.
Can use whole wheat flour in the topping if you'd like for a little bit of a nuttier flavor.
Can substitute cinnamon for the cardamom.
