- 12 ounce cranberries
- 1 ½ cups red wine a fruity red
- 1 ¼ cups light brown sugar packed
- ⅓ cup candied ginger minced
- 1 tablespoon orange zest grated
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon allspice
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan.
Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
Reduce the heat to medium and cook until the sauce has thickened slightly, about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until cold, about 3 hours. Can be prepared up to one week ahead.
