Summer Manhattan

Aprerol and Prosecco stand in for rye whiskey in this light and bubbly summer Manhattan cocktail!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce Aperol
  • 1 ounce Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
  • 3 oz Prosecco
  • 1 maraschino cherry for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a glass with ice.
  • Add Aperol, sweet Vermouth and a dash of bitters to the glass.
  • Stir.
  • Top with Prosecco and garnish with a cherry.

Notes

You can use champagne or your favorite sparkling wine. 
If you can't find Aperol, try Campari. 
You can combine the Aperol, Sweet Vermouth and bitters in a cocktail shaker.  Shake with ice, strain into a flute glass and top with sparkling wine for a more classic sparkling cocktail presentation.
