Vieux Cocktail

A rich and complex cocktail. A little sweet, a little herby and a little spicy!

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce cognac or brandy
  • 1 ounce rye whiskey
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 1 teaspoon Bénédictine
  • 1 dash Peychaud's Bitters
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
  • 1 Maraschino cherry for garnish

Instructions

  • Add cognac, whiksey, sweet vermouth and whiskey to mixing glass.
  • Add a dash of Peychaud's bitters and Angostura bitters.
  • Fill glass halfway with ice and stir for 30 seconds.
  • Strain into an ice filled rocks glass and garnish with a cherry.

If you can't find Peychaud's bitters you can add an extra dash of the Angostura bitters.
