Ingredients

  • 2 cups cherries
  • 2 cups bourbon

Instructions

  • Pit the cherries and place them in a glass jar.
  • Pour the bourbon over the cherries, make sure it covers them all.
  • Put a lid on the jar and store in a cool, dark place for 6 weeks. Shake the bourbon, daily or whenever you remember.
  • After 6 weeks, strain the cherries out of the bourbon and pour the bourbon into a bottle.

Notes

There really aren't any needed measurements for this, make it with however many cherries you have.  It is roughly equal cherries to equal bourbon, but the main thing is to make sure the cherries are covered.
When you're finished you can store the cherries in a jar in the fridge and use them in cocktails.
Try to use within a year, this will technically keep indefinitely, but the flavor is the brightest that first year.
