I've told you over and over how much I love oakleaf hydrangeas.  Really?  You don't remember?  Just Google Sidewalk Shoes and Oakleaf Hydrangeas and grab a cup of tea, because I talk about them a lot.  You know that game where you decide what one thing you could take with you on a deserted island - well if it was played with plants, I would take an oakleaf hydrangea.  Wait a minute, I just realized that I should probably take a plant that provides food.  Whatever.  I still love oakleaf hydrangeas.

They have something going on all year long.  Even in the winter when there are no leaves, these large cone-shaped heads of browned flowers provide an interesting shape in the garden.

    Petunias | Sidewalk Shoes

And, for no other reason than I liked the look of my porch rail petunias in the evening sun.  They practically glow, which I had a hard time showing.

      Hi Pam,
The flowers are really lovely. I love hydrangeas , but have not seen oakleaf hydrangeas before.
I've linked a post today, have been slacking on my gardening lately, as the weather here is extremely hot and dry for the past few weeks.
      Thanks for hosting!

      HI Pam,
Whew! I thought I was going to have to call Garden Tuesday, Wednesday this week, lol...I really need to look into that Hydrangea. Does it grow very large? I just had one of the grasses dug up in the garden. I'm hoping it's gone for good. It was a very unruley variety. I'd love to fill in with something that displays all of the seasons. The Oakleaf really is a pretty plant:)

Thanks for sharing, Pam and thank you for hosting Garden Tuesday. I too had a problem linking up but I kept on doing it until it worked!

My oak leaf hydrangeas didn't bloom this summer. 🙁 I think it's due to our cold, windy winter and lack of moisture. Maybe next year will be better, as I do love them.

Wonder if that gorgeous oakleaf is hardy here?
It's like I have to grow it:)

I've never seen this variety. Where does it grow? I am a sucker for hydrangeas too and you're right they are beautiful in every season!

Your hydrangeas are beautiful Pam. I tried to enter a link for a garden post, but it wouldn't work for me. I guess I'll try again later.
