    White Azaleas

LAST UPDATED: January 31, 2019 PUBLISHED: April 11, 2016 By Pam Greer 15 Comments As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

    White Azaleas

Our home is over 30 years old and as part of it's original foundation landscaping there are several azalea bushes planted in front of the house.  You find them on almost every single house in our subdivision.  We have a few that are a sort of coral pink and then there are the white azaleas, which are my favorite.  They are covered in snowy white blossoms in the spring.  My only complaint is that based on where they are planted we have to keep them trimmed into nice neat roundish shapes.  I hate that.  I much prefer to see azaleas that are left to get more bush-like with a natural growth habitat.

    White azaleas

My husband sometimes tries to prune the white azaleas in a little bit of an uneven manner to keep them from looking so formal, but it's not very successful.  He knows I hate their manicured look, so to appease me, he bought several more azalea bushes and planted them in our backyard where they can grow however they would like.

These white azaleas do make lovely cut flowers.  I love the contrast of the pure white blossoms with the deep brown stems and the lime green color of the new growth.

Aren't they lovely! Azaleas here tend to either be scorched from the heat or brown quickly with the humidity. They grow best in the Blue Mountains with its cooler, no seasonal climate. I do so love the white ones and am also very partial to ten snowball viburnum. Just wish I had more room to plant one.

Azaleas come in such lovely colors but white is always gorgeous against the lovely green leaves.

Lovely blossoms. I still amuse myself with photographing the trees' buds in anticipation of floral beauty.

We had daffodils. And then it snowed. And then we had flattened daffodils. Azaleas, rhododendrons and such will come in a month or 2.
