Garden Tuesday ~The Petunias on the Porch~

    Petunias on porch rail

One of the first official tasks of summer is the annual potting of the petunias on the porch.  These are wave petunias and I have the best luck with them.  I bought them from a different nursery this year and these are much more compact.  I think they were pinched back more regularly.  I love them and I’m going to have to remember to keep them pruned back so they don’t get soooo leggy.

It makes me so happy to see them on my porch.  I’m listening to Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder by Arianna Huffington and really trying to put into practice some of the things she is talking about.  So, as I was potting these, I took time to really enjoy it, to feel how happy it made me.  To step back and admire these little touches that make my house a home.

How about you, what’s in your garden this week?  And, I would love it if you would visit a few of the blogs that take the time to stop by and add their link.  Let’s all support one another!

I jumped right over to audible.com to order "Thrive." I saw Arianna promoting it a while ago. Thanks for the reminder. Your flowers are beautiful. I spent an hour on my deck this morning potting some herbs. I, too, get such pleasure from it.

I love petunias and have planted a few myself. I will try to be better about pruning them too, they look so much better than getting "leggy."
