Hosta and Volunteer Tomatoes! | Garden Tuesday

I know a lot of people grow hosta for their foliage.  Lush dark leaves or bright variegated leaves flourishing in the shady areas of your garden.  While I do like the leaves, I absolutely love the large delicate sprays of white, with the slightest blush of lavender, blossoms.  They are all over our yard now, reminding me of just how much hosta we have!

We also have a large selection of volunteer tomato plants!  I know it looks like we planted tomatoes in pots, but we didn't.  The pots were actually planted with two pepper plants, then my husband added a layer of compost from our compost bin on top of the pots.  I would have thought that compost got hot enough to kill tomato seeds, but I guess not!  We have no idea what kind they will be!  Some are in clusters like those above and some our just one big tomato hanging from a stem.  What fun!
