Sedum Autumn Joy and More for Garden Tuesday

LAST UPDATED: January 31, 2019 PUBLISHED: August 18, 2015 By Pam Greer 5 Comments As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

A few photos from my southeastern Tennessee garden in mid August.

    Garlic Chives

Do you grow garlic chives?   I love them.  I used to have a bunch of regular chives, but the garlic chives took over.  Garlic chives can be a bit of a bully.  I love their garlicky flavor and I use them interchangeably with regular chives in recipes.  I also love their tall stately white flowers.  Those pictured above are in my front sidewalk bed, they managed to make it all the way from the back yard.  I've been cutting the flowers before they seed, so I've kept this nice little clump in the front.

    Russian Sage

The Russian Sage has become quite tall and leggy.  I probably need to trim it back, but I'm not sure the best time.  Any advice?

    Hens and chicks

My mother's hens and chicks.  One of the plants that I brought back from my mother's house is her hens and chicks plant.  It seems to be doing okay with the move.

What's in your garden this week?

Beautiful garden!! I love hens & chicks. And I've never heard of garlic chives. I'd love to try some in a recipe!

It's kind of Spring here. The Gardening Expert on the radio called it Sprinter. My azalea is flowering like crazy. Probably a good time to plant those sassanqua camellias I keep talking about.
