    Spring is Springing!

LAST UPDATED: January 31, 2019 PUBLISHED: March 21, 2016 By Pam Greer 16 Comments As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

    Dandelion

I know some of you ended up with snow on the first day of spring!  Not us, though we did have a frost warning.  I knew it was going to get cold, so before it did, I went for a walk around the neighborhood and in my backyard capturing a little bit of spring.  Oh look, the first dandelion!!!  I'm sure I won't be so excited by the time I see the 100th or so.

    Lenten Rose

The lenten rose (hellebores) are just loving this weather.  Not too hot, not too cold.  Just right.  Of course, I've seen them pop up through snow, but I think they much prefer this weather.

    blueberry flowers

The blueberry bushes are getting flowers.  There aren't that many this year.  I don't think our bushes get enough sun any more.  the trees behind our yard have gotten so tall.

    Bunny statue with lenten rose

Mr. Bunny loves the spring weather!  The hellebores are popping up all over.  I think they are blending, we are ending up with so many different shades.

    Oakleaf hydrangea

    Oakleaf hydrangea

The bright green leaves of the oakleaf hydrangeas add such cheer to our yard.  They seem to grow overnight.  I love how they arise out of the base of the old dead leaves from last fall.

Beautiful! We started with cooler temps, but quickly rebounded. And are now covered in yellow/green pollen. I'm anxious for that phase to end so I can really start to enjoy spring!

We have a few green grasses...does that count? Maybe next week we will see more green. But no dandelions yet, please, not until we have actual green lawn.
