Thanks to the mild winter we are having, it's starting to look a lot like spring around here! That is not a good thing. Our actual last frost free date is April 15th. That's 2 months away. A lot can happen in two months...frost, freezes, snow...who knows! I don't worry so much about the plants, they seem to be able to handle the changes. I do worry though about the trees and the bushes. It seems like we go through this every year.
The one plant that I definitely don't worry about is Hellebores. I've seen them pop up, heavy with snow. I've seen the rally after being covered in a late season ice storm. I love their determination. Every year around this time, it seems like they just suddenly pop up. One day I look out my back window and I see their soft purple nodding heads.
I don't worry too much about this oregano either. Nothing kills oregano. And why yes, I didn't bother removing my fall leaves from my beds.
I'm not sure what this is. Daffodils?
A few blossoms sill hang on from last years blooms on the oakleaf hydrangea.

The unending heat here is stressing the plants in my garden. We have a bit of good rain but the hot sun does a lot of damage.
