Oh sure, anyone can grow plants in pots, but how many of you can grow kitty cats? I was out watering my flowers (we are in drought conditions here with mid nineties every day), when I came to my pot of ornamental grass. There was feral kitty Winston making himself at home in my pot! It has been so miserably hot, he has stuck very close to our house. I worry about him because he seems so slim, but I think part of it is that he has shed his heavy coat that he gets in the winter. He seems content, but I imagine that he would welcome some cooler temperatures.
Why yes, it is a little cluttered under our porch. Isn't that what under the porch areas are for? And basements? And attics? And closets?
I thought you mike to see from the other angle. We do have some ornamental grass in the pot. It's actually a bit taller than it looks in the photo, since someone is flattening it!
My artsy photo is run through the Topaz Labs Simplify 4 plugin:

Yeah, I feel sorry for them being outside in this heat. He does look rather content though. 🙂

Look at his big cheeks! He's probably been on his own for awhile. He's lucky to have such a sweet spot to sleep in!

I'm sure Winston is protecting the grass in the pot from the heat 🙂

Make sure to fluff the dirt while you are caring for the garden Winston.

As long as he has water, I reckon he will do OK, don't you?

Growing kitycats is a worthwhile venture. I'm sure you always leave him plenty of water, and that's all you can do for a feral animal. Shade under your porch is good, and clutter grows under porches, too. I've seen it happen.

I think Winston has found exactly where he wants to be right now, maybe he'll need potting on or planting out later in the year... A lovely art effect too, and makes such a handsome boy more so. purrs ERin

Ah Winston, your gardening skills need some work. It's weeds you flatten - not real plants. What is about plant pots and cats?
