Walking on Trampolines opens in a hotel room the morning after a wedding. The only problem is that the woman waking up next to Josh, the groom, is Lulu de Longland - not his wife. They are awakened by the loud knocking at the door from Annabelle, the bride.
The author then takes us back to when Lulu was 12 years old and Annabelle Andrews first walked into her life. We watch Annabelle and Lulu grow up. The families intermingling in that way that families do when their children are best friends.
This characters are what make this book so strong. Each character is unique and fleshed out. From Lulu’s mother, Rose, who names her dresses, and who wears Doris when she is having a bad day, to Duncan McAllister, a radio icon with Platinum Tonsils.
Not only is the characterization wonderful, but the relationships that develop between each of them is strong and true.
I loved this book from beginning to end.

Your review makes it all sound interesting, I will see if I can find a copy here at the library. I have a stack of twelve here from my score yesterday, but one more should fit in, right? 🙂
