So, we had to go to St. Louis to check on my mom. She had open heart surgery and then was having trouble coming off the ventilator. They inserted a trach and feeding tube and she has now been moved to long term acute care - where they basically work on weaning her off of the tubes.
While we were gone, we had a cat/house sitter stay with the kitties. I was worried about our stray because he just comes and sits at the walkway waiting for me to walk out and feed him. We arrived home late Wednesday and a couple of hours later, I saw him walking up from the woods behind our house. I had been making good progress with him, he actually sniffed at my hand. But now, I am afraid we are back to him staying a few feet away. I guess I'll have to build our teeny tiny relationship back up again!
Coco and Patchouli were both so needy when we got back home. They don't run up all excited like doggies do, but they do hang a little bit closer. Coco, particularly, had lots to say about us being gone!

Like the rest of us, Miss Coco was expressing her concern about your dear mother. I'm sure she was trying to let you know that.

Sending more healing energy to your mom!
I remember coming home from trips when I was a child, some cats ignored us to show how mad they were and others were quite lovey-dovey!!!

I sure hope your Mom's is doing better...so hard to be in that situation...
The cats were happy to see, and that's a good thing...have a lovely, restful weekend.

Well, don't you feel complimented that the stray prefers you to the sitter? I can just hear Coco and Patchouli upbraiding you for your disappearance. They do have a way of letting you know exactly what they think.
Monique says
Hope things will go well with your mom...cute cute faces.

I'm glad to hear your mom has improved 🙂 Strays are tough, but I'm sure you will win him over eventually. Have a great weekend Pam!
