One of the best things that we've done to our home is to screen in the back deck.  It's not as big as we would have liked, but we worked with what we had.  If we had made the back deck bigger it would have covered up our basement windows and we like the light we get in the basement.  The kitty cats love it.  They have a cat door so they can go in and out at will.  It makes me feel much better about it when they are outside.  I know that if something is chasing them, they can always run up on the porch.  It is a second story porch, and they love being able to sit on the wicker furniture and look out and survey their domain.
