A review of Encantadora Malbec 2014 for Weekend Wine Reviews #275.
Encantadora Malbec, 2014, Mendoza, $25 - Wine Insiders Club. They say: hints of black cherry and cranberry culminate in a lingering and spicy finish. We say: we agree with everything they say, this was rich and luscious with well balanced tannins.
A little more about Malbec grapes: Malbec grapes originated in the small village of Cahors, France. It is one of the five primary grapes of the Bordeaux region, yet it is equally at home in Argentina. Malbec is known for it's rich and rustic character. Prominent flavors are deep, dark fruits like blackberry and blueberry, plus cocoa and winter spice. It pairs perfectly with a nicely marbled steak!
