A review of Bellonae Chenin Blanc 2013 for Weekend Wine Reviews #291.
Bellonae Chenin Blanc, 2013, California, Wine Insiders. They say: It tastes like pear, peach and apple. It is best served cold - approximately 45-50 degrees. It pairs well with pork and light flaky fish. We say: Refreshing with pear and apple and a bit of lemon. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Very nice!
Chenin Blanc in general: the white grape Chenin Blanc is achieving a new life in the United States. It was once widely planted in California, but it had largely disappeared from wine regions by 200. However, in the last few years, producers have started making Chenin Blancs again. The Chenin Blanc is a rare treat to find crafted in the United States. It is mainly produced in France and South Africa.
A few more photos so you can see more of the art work on the label and a photo of my helper.

I must try some of the Chenin Blancs we get here as I like a wine with pear, peach and apple. Mind you, as we head into cooler weather the reds are getting my attention. Must go back and read some of your autumn and winter posts.
